Pop Up Theatre was developed in 2016 as a home for passionate hard working performers which is now approaching its largest show yet. The group’s first show was “Full Monty” in 2016, followed by sell out productions of “Chicago” in 2019, “The Producers” in 2022, “Hairspray” 2023, and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” 2024.

Sligo Town is set to experience a theatrical event like no other as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street takes to the stage in an immersive, in-the-round production from April 24th to 26th 2025. This Pop Up spectacular will run for 3 performances only, promising an unforgettable experience with spine-tingling music, gripping drama, dark comedy and innovative staging.
With a 20-piece orchestra, a powerful 26-piece choir, a 40 string Lead and Ensemble Cast and a meticulously crafted staging design, Sweeney Todd marks the biggest musical production ever to hit Sligo. Knocknarea Arena in ATU Sligo will be transformed into a hauntingly atmospheric space that draws the audience into the twisted world of Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece.
